Our last berrypicking outting

I love my babies but once in a while I need a break. So one Saturday in October even with snow on the mountains I went berry picking for low bush cranberries downriver with my aunt Axinia Takumjenak, uncle Willie Takumjenak, my mom's first cousin Okalena Polty and my dad's cousin Joe Klukluk. It was not as cold as we thought it was going to be but there was snow on the ground. I was wanting to post this earlier but kept getting interrupted.

I just love hearing your stories and keeping up with your life in Russian Mission. We had a mixed berry season here in Fairbanks--TONS of raspberries and cranberries (both types) but thin on blueberries. Right at the end of the season we found an unpicked patch of blueberries in an unlikely location, so the freezer is full. I enjoy berry picking, but not nearly as much as my wife does. She'd do it all summer if there were berries to be picked.

Thanks skip - I also love berry picking. Life here is okay - I am just bummed that I did not get to finish my last year of school. Nicholas just got over another bout of illness, this time sore mouth. He lost a little over a pound in a week. Aside from my worries for his health I was not too worried because of how chubby he was. He now looks like a normal sized big baby, not big and super-round. We too had a really good raspberry season and cranberry...but not too good blueberry season. Should have just said "ditto for us here on the berries"
